Community Wellbeing & Environmental Education

Project
Target Audience
Community Wellbeing & Environmental Education
Individuals and Families

Objectives
Enhance community wellbeing
Promote environmental stewardship
Funded By
Severn Trent Community Fund

This project was inspired from other Connect Projects, when people were sharing their concerns about not feeling safe to be outdoors alone.
Thanks to Severn Trent Community Funding, this project is dedicated to enhancing community wellbeing through a series of workshops and volunteering programmes that integrate healthier lifestyles, skills development, and environmental stewardship.
This intergenerational and inclusive project builds confidence and enables participants to engage with our activities and join other local groups.
Some of the key activities include:
-
Canal Walks - engaging people in local canal walks to boost physical exercise and mental health
-
Canoeing - promoting physical fitness and educate participants on waterway conservation
-
Community Spaces Revitalisation - supporting litter picking initiatives and establish community gardens
-
Environmental Education Programmes - engaging people in waterway clean-up initiatives and sustainable gardening practices

"Thank you for today, I was feeling anxious about attending the walk today, as I don't like going out the area I live in. But I'm glad I came as it took me out my comfort zone and I really enjoyed the day - I feel happy and relaxed now"
