The Connect Pantry
The Connect Pantry is an initiative that provides affordable access to food and household essentials, giving individuals and families dignity, choice and hope.
A pantry is much more than an affordable food project. Through regular engagement with members, the pantry helps identify emerging needs early, reducing reliance on emergency food aid and crisis services while promoting long-term stability.
The initiative supports financial resilience by helping households stretch their income, manage rising living costs, and develop budgeting skills. Members retain dignity, choice and control by selecting their own food rather than receiving pre-packed parcels, with the small membership contribution reducing stigma and encouraging ownership.

“Everyone is so nice and friendly, and there's so much choice, I didn't know what to choose!"
Setup as a trusted community access point, the pantry strives to provide a welcoming environment where people can seek help and be connected to wider support services, including welfare advice, health services, employment support and community resources.
The pantry also provides volunteering opportunities, peer support, wellbeing activities and community engagement, supporting the whole person, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation, improve confidence and wellbeing, and build a stronger sense of belonging.
